Snowfall has started today in the capital Shimla, contrary to the forecast of the Meteorological Department. The Meteorological Center Shimla had predicted the weather to be clear till January 5, but on the contrary, it is snowing today. Apart from this, on seeing the snowfall in the capital, the tourists gathered on the ridge started swinging in joy. On seeing the ridge, a sheet of snow was laid. Tourist places adjacent to the capital have also fallen in Kufri. The first fresh snowfall of the year 2020 occurred in the high peaks of Kullu and Lahaul, including the Rohtang Pass, 13050 feet high.

Fresh snow has fallen by about 30 cm in Rohtang and up to 15 cm in Jalori Pass. The cold wave has intensified in the valley following the snowfall on Friday night.
