Flying automobiles have long been a component of science fiction stories that promise a future filled with ease and devoid of present worldly concerns, most notably traffic jams. However, the future may be on the horizon, as a number of businesses are working on creating, or perhaps perfecting, their unique flying vehicles. LuftCar, located in Florida, is one among them, with intentions to launch its vehicle as early as 2023.

The LuftCar autonomous car may be linked to a flying module and is expected to reach a high speed of approximately 220 miles per hour (350 kilometres per hour) thanks to six propellers. It will also be able to reach a height of approximately 4,000 feet and cover 150 miles (240 kilometres) in a single trip. When it isn't soaring over clouds, it may just as readily race on roadways. The flying module, of course, will have to be removed.

The five-seater vehicle will be powered by hydrogen and will cost roughly $350,000 when it is released. It will mostly be used by large corporations and rich individuals who want a fast transportation alternative. Decongestion of cities might also have a positive effect. "People will really own a small vehicle and an aircraft together; as a result, they will not need to live in a congested metropolis and will be able to travel easily from far-flung locations to cities." "Khaleej Times reported Santh Sathya, the founder and CEO of LuftCar, as saying. "Businesses may utilize this as a shared vehicle to go from city to city without having to rent a car."

As per Sathya's LinkedIn page, he attended Anna University before travelling to the United States to complete his education. Before founding LuftCar, he worked for firms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, and Boeing. Will the LuftCar flying vehicle also find its way to India's crowded cities? Although the firm is presently displaying at the Dubai Airshow 2021, there is no indication on which markets the product will be available in first.
