The actress became a household name from a longest-running television serial 'Kumkum Bhagya'. The actress became famous by playing of Pragya. Sriti was born in Begusarai, Bihar in 1986. Her family then moved to Kolkata. She did her studies from there. After spending 10 years in Kolkata, Sriti moved to Kathmandu Nepal with her family. Sriti studied BA in English from Venkateshwara College, Delhi, where she joined the English Drama Society of the college and later became its President.
