Agra: There is great news for Agra. From September 21, the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort will be opened for tourists. All the remaining monuments have opened on 1 September. After reviewing the corona situation on Monday, Collector Prabhu N Singh issued instructions to open the Taj Mahal and Agra fort. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the entry of tourists in the monuments including Taj Mahal and Agra Fort was closed since 17 March.

According to the Unlock-4 guidelines, from September 1, small monuments including Sikandra, Fatehpur Sikri and Etmaduddala were opened. The Taj Mahal is also going to open soon. The collector has issued instructions to open both the monuments from 21 September. With this decision, people associated with the tourist industry are hopeful that with the opening of both these monuments, the cloud of crisis hovering over the tourist industry will be removed.

In Agra, COVID-19 wreaking havoc for the last 6 months. The first patient was found on March 3. The virus came from Italy with the family of a shoe businessman. There were 8 infected in Agra when the lockdown took place on March 24. In view of the COVID-19, all the monuments in the country including the Taj Mahal was closed on March 17. The reopening of the monuments will bring smiles on people's faces again.
