Fuel prices will drop further: Union Petroleum Minister

New Delhi: Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the price of the fuels will be decreased further in India. 

Union Petrol Minister said that the government is expanding refinery capacity in the country, which will bring down the prices of diesel and petrol further.

Petrol and diesel prices have been dropped even touching the lowest levels in over a year across the four metro city of India. The continuous fall in the fuel prices for the last couple of weeks comes following the recent decline in crude oil prices.

Talking about Petrol price in Delhi, it is at Rs 68.65 on Wednesday – lowest in a year, data on the Indian Oil Corp`s website showed. The year saw the petrol price rise to a high of Rs 82.83 (October 16) in Delhi. As far as fuel price concerned in other metro cities Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, the fuel cost Rs 70.78, Rs 74.30 and Rs 71.22, respectively. While prices for diesel in Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai stood at Rs 62.66, Rs 64.42, Rs 66.14 and Rs 65.56 respectively.
