NEW DELHI: The petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged in major Indian metros on 60ay, May 22, as per the latest data by the Oil Marketing Companies
The petrol rates in New Delhi stood at Rs.96.72 per litre on Monday, while the diesel price was Rs.89.62 per litre in the city.
Petrol prices in major cities on Monday are as follows: Mumbai (Rs.106.31/litre), Bangalore ( Rs.101.94/litre), Jaipur ( Rs.108.78/litre), Kolkata ( Rs.106.03/litre), Chennai ( Rs.102.63/litre), and Noida ( Rs.96.59/litre), respectively. Diesel rates in metro cities are: Mumbai ( Rs.94.27/litre), Bangalore (Rs.87.89/litre), Jaipur (Rs.93.99/litre), Kolkata (Rs.92.76/litre), Chennai (Rs.94.24/litre), and Noida (Rs.89.76/litre), respectively.
Every day, oil corporations like Indian Oil Corporation and Bharat Petroleum evaluate fuel pricing. The prices are established in accordance with the global price of crude oil.
The last time the price of fuel changed nationally was on May 21, 2022, when the central government reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs. 8 per litre and on diesel by Rs. 6 per litre. Since then, some state governments have reduced the VAT on petrol and diesel while others have added new cess.
