New Delhi: a descending trend on Petrol, diesel prices continued Sunday as well. Petrol prices went down by 40-41 paise. On the other hand diesel prices were slashed by 45-46 paise in major cities across the nation. Ahead of today's price cut, petrol in national capital Delhi was down at Rs 74.84 as against Rs 75.25 on Saturday. Diesel was retailing at Rs 69.70 compared to Rs 70.16 yesterday, according to data presented on Indian Oil Corporation website.
In Mumbai, petrol was priced at Rs 80.38 per litre on Sunday compared to Rs 80.79 on Saturday while Diesel in Mumbai became cheaper by 46 paise to Rs 72.99 per litre.
In Chennai, petrol was priced at Rs 77.69 per litre as against Rs 78.13 on Saturday while in Kolkata petrol was priced at Rs 76.82 as against Rs 77.22 per litre yesterday. On the other hand Diesel in these cities was sold at Rs 73.63 and Rs 71.55 respectively.
It is noted that the prices are cut again as international crude oil prices continued to go down. Oil prices plunged to 2018 lows on Saturday in morning trading. Worth mention here Brent crude oil futures hit their lowest since December 2017 at $59.04 per barrel .
