Fuel prices hiked across India, third hike in 4 days

New Delhi: After a one-day hiatus, petrol and diesel prices were raised across the country on Friday. In the national capital, petrol and diesel prices were raised by 80 paise per litre. Today's prices for petrol and diesel in Delhi are Rs 97.81 per litre and Rs 89.07 per litre, respectively.

In Mumbai, the price of petrol has risen by 84 paise to Rs 112.51 a litre, while the price of diesel has risen by 85 paise to Rs 96.70 per litre. The price of fuel and diesel in Chennai has increased by 76 paise per litre. In Chennai, petrol will cost Rs 103.67 per litre and diesel will cost Rs 93.71 per litre. In Kolkata, petrol is priced at Rs 106.34 per litre, a rise of 84 paise, while diesel is priced at Rs 91.42 per litre, an increase of 80 paise. After a four-month hiatus, this is the third increase in four days. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the price of petrol and diesel was increased by 80 paise per litre.

Earlier on Thursday, oil companies upped the pricing of gasoline and diesel, while the Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) raised the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) by Rs 1 per kilogramme. In Delhi, the price of one kg of CNG has risen to Rs 59.01 per kilogramme. With effect from Thursday, the IGL has increased the price of household piped natural gas (PNG) by Rs 1 per standard cubic metre (SCM).
