Bhopal: The election season is on in India and in an attempt to encourage voters to exercise their franchise, a petrol pump in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh has announced Rs 2 off on petrol on election day on May 19.

As per the report in Times of India, the owner of the fuel station, Siddarth Jain, said any voter can avail the discount at his petrol station located on the Indore-Khandwa road after showing their inked finger on the voting day.

Jain told  TOI, "The country should have a successful democratic government, which is only possible with the active participation of everyone and that is why he decided to give the discount.’

In order to taje the benefi of the offer. the people have to show their inked finger. Before giving the Rs 2 discount on May 19, the petrol pump staff has been instructed to check the ink mark on a consumer’s finger.

Earlier, All India Petroleum Dealers Association (AIPDA) had announced Rs 50 paisa off on petrol and diesel prices on polling day in their respective constituencies.
