New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G. Kishan Reddy called Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and jihadi activities as the country's biggest security challenge, targeting Pakistan. Addressing a conference of the heads of the Anti-Terrorist Squad organized by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the Union Minister said that terrorism is a major challenge for the country. Terrorism is the curse for any civilized society and the biggest obstacle in modern development.

Kishan Reddy said that "Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism and jihadi terrorism are the biggest external security challenges for India, but the country is always ready to face such challenges". The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs said that "India has been fighting the fight against terrorism for decades, but the Modi government is determined to eradicate terrorism completely. The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs appreciated the efforts of the security forces in bringing peace in Punjab, Northeast, Kashmir and some parts of the country affected by the insurgency".

He said that "it is the duty of the world's largest democracy to support the international community in fighting the menace of terrorism. He also called for creating a strong legal framework with all the infrastructure and human resources necessary to eradicate terrorism. He said that the Government of India has worked to strengthen the legal framework in India by amending the Anti-Terrorism Act and the NIA Act".
