RANCHI: At a conference scheduled in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, on March 2 and 3, foreign representatives of G20 major economies will address energy-related concerns and provide a future roadmap for collaboration in the sector, according to an official announcement.
The G20 RIIG Conference on "Materials for Sustainable Energy" is scheduled to take place at Ranchi during 2-3 March 2023, according to a statement released on February 28. "Delegates from all G20 countries will discuss 21st-century challenges related to energy materials and devices, solar energy utilisation and photovoltaic technology, and materials and processes for green energy," the statement read.
The conference, which is designed to foster partnerships and information exchange, "will elaborate on the essential need for G20 Governments and participating International Organizations (IO's) in the domain of energy and offer a future roadmap for G20 cooperation." According to the Union Ministry of Science and Technology, the theme "is in sync with various Indian and G20 nations' push on alternate energy sources for a green environment."
The conference will include opening, technical, and concluding sessions, as well as a plenary lecture on "Strategy towards Low-Carbon Transition Driving India towards Net-Zero" and a panel discussion, according to the statement. It will be chaired by Dr. Srivari Chandrasekhar, Secretary DST and RIIG Chair.
The conference is expected to draw about 25 foreign representatives from all G20 nations, the EU, and international organisations like the International Solar Alliance.
From various scientific departments/organizations of the Indian government and Indian industry, about 35 top topic experts are also anticipated to attend the conference as special invitees. At the conference, some of the most renowned specialists in the field will also be expressing their opinions.
“Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Rahul Sinha said that the city is ready to welcome the delegates for which special arrangements have been made. Security has been intensified for the close-door meeting,” he said.
