New Delhi, September 4, 2023 - In anticipation of the forthcoming G20 Summit, Northern Railway authorities have imposed substantial restrictions on rail travel, resulting in the cancellation of a significant number of train services. Northern Railway has officially announced the cancellation of 207 trains scheduled for operation on September 9, 10, and 11.

To accommodate these changes, 36 trains originally destined for New Delhi will now conclude their journeys at Ghaziabad and Nizamuddin stations. Additionally, alterations have been made to the itineraries of 70 other trains, with supplementary stops added to their routes, all as part of the comprehensive security measures adopted in preparation for the summit.

Approximately 15 trains have had their routes diverted, including notable services like the Jammu Tawi-New Delhi Tejas-Rajdhani, Jammu Tawi-Hazrat Nizamuddin Tejas-Rajdhani, and Varanasi-New Delhi Tejas-Rajdhani routes. These measures have been implemented due to the heightened security protocols in effect during the G20 Summit, scheduled for September 9 and 10.

In a separate development, the full-scale police rehearsal initiated on Saturday is set to persist until today, underscoring the seriousness with which security concerns are being addressed. For real-time updates and information regarding traffic restrictions within the national capital during the summit, the public is encouraged to reach out to the 'G-20 Virtual Help Desk.'

Notably, the G20 Summit is expected to see the participation of several world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Canadian President Justin Trudeau, adding to the global significance of the event.
