New Delhi: A virtual meeting of Governors, Lieutenant Governors, and Chief Ministers was convened on Friday (December 9) under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi to discuss various issues and leading the G20 Summit by India. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and the Chief Secretary of the state had also reached this meeting with full preparation, but she did not get the opportunity to speak. This claim has been made by the sources of the Bengal government. Friday's meeting was a follow-up to the meeting held in New Delhi on December 5, which was also attended by Mamata Banerjee.

Sources close to CM Banerjee have told that it was expected that Mamata Banerjee would get a chance to speak during Friday's meeting. Earlier preparations were to be made for the live telecast of her speech, but the entire preparation was wasted. Sources said that Kolkata is also included in the venue of events related to the G20 summit. Speaking to the media, a senior official of the Mamata government of Bengal said, 'The CM had some documents giving information about the preparations of West Bengal for the G20 summit programs to be held in the state. But, she was not even given a chance to speak.' The official said, 'West Bengal Chief Secretary HK Dwivedi, who attended the meeting, also did not get an opportunity to speak.'

Let us inform you that, CM Mamata Banerjee has alleged earlier also that she was not given an opportunity to speak in the meeting called by PM Modi. In May 2021, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee attended a meeting called by PM Modi to take stock of the pandemic situation, but at that time also alleged that chief ministers of opposition-ruled states were not allowed to speak. Then they called the meeting a 'flop'.
