The 'Pola' festival in the Maharashtra state of India is dedicated to oxen, although some communities in Akola district also worship donkeys on this day called 'Donkey Pola'. In Maharashtra, farmers worship the bulls on the day of 'Pola' (also known as 'Bail Pola') to show gratitude for hard work throughout the year. This festival has been celebrated on 30 August this year.
