Four 'test pilots' have completed their one-year training in Russia for India's ambitious Gaganyaan mission. Under the Gaganyaan mission, by 2022, India is planning to send astronauts to space. 4 pilots of the Indian Air Force were selected for the mission. He has been completing training at the Yuri Gagarin Research and Test Cosmonaut Training Center near Moscow since February last year. Now their training will also be done in India. On Thursday, the central government had said that their training will start in May or June this year.
Dmitry Rogozin, head of Russia's State Space Corporation, said on his Telegram channel on Monday, "In the evening we met Indian astronauts at the Gagarin Research and Test Cosmonaut Training Center, who have completed their training. We also had talks with the Indian Ambassador about future bilateral space projects". The training of these Indian pilots was signed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and Russia's launch service provider Glavkosmos in June 2019. It has been learned that the 4 pilots who have undergone training for this space mission include a Group Captain and three Wing Commander of the Indian Air Force. The training began on 10 February 2020 but was temporarily affected by the Corona epidemic.
Earlier, ISRO officials had said that after taking training in Russia, these pilots would take module-specific training in India. He is known about the crew and service modules designed by ISRO in India. The Central Government had sanctioned 10 thousand crore rupees for the Gaganyaan mission. The mission is scheduled to be launched in 2022 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the country's independence.
