Hanumakonda: Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Venkataraman Reddy had expressed his displeasure against TPCC President A Revanth Reddy at a press conference in Hyderabad on Friday. In response to which, talking to media persons, Warangal District Congress Committee (DCC) President Naini Rajendra Reddy on Saturday said that Gandra Venkataraman Reddy had no moral right to criticize Revanth Reddy. He is a treacherous who showed loyalty to the ruling TRS after winning the election on a Congress ticket.

“Gandra, who won on a Congress ticket in 2018, crossed the TRS to expand his business empire and get his wife Jyoti to get the post of Zilla Parishad president,” Naini said. At this point of time, the Congress is down but not out, he said, attributing the Congress's current state to back-stabbing of leaders like Gandra. The TRS leaders, who came to power by taking advantage of the state agitation, have no moral right to criticize the Congress, which had bifurcated Andhra Pradesh to create a separate Telangana. The DCC chief accused Gandra of indulging in illegal sand mining, smuggling of adulterated petrol and teak wood etc.

He said Congress leaders are ready to prove the illegal operation of Gandra. He asks Gandra to apologize to Revanth Reddy for his anger. Earlier, Congress leaders paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary. Former Mayor Erabeli Swarna, senior leaders Ayodhya Reddy, Namindala Srinivas, Dommati Sambaiah, Rawali, Meesala Prakash and Dr Puli Anil Kumar were present among others.
