The festival of Bappa that is "Ganeshaotsav' is being celebrated all over the country. You must know that there are many ancient and beautiful temples of Lord Ganesha where their best statue is found to see. By the way, one such temple is located in Pillarepatti in Tirupathur taluk of Tamil Nadu. Let us tell you that this temple is known as Karpaka Vinayak Temple. It is believed that the idol of Lord Ganesha was carved here around the fourth century.

Yes, the Chettiar community takes care of this temple and it is considered one of the nine most important temples of this community. Let us tell you that the Karpaka Vinayak temple is said to be an ancient and cave temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. This temple is also called Pillarepatti Pilar Temple. By the way, there is also a cave which is made by cutting a single stone. Let us tell you that this cave is also considered dedicated to Lord Ganesha. It is said that the cave has idols made of stone of Lord Shiva and other deities. Apart from this, in the sanctum sanctorum of this temple, large lamps of oil are applied for adequate lighting.

Indeed, if we look at the inscriptions found here, this temple was built between 1091 and 1238 AD. At present, this temple is very revered for all. Actually, this temple is said to have been built by the Pandya kings on the Pillarepatti hill. Apart from this, it is also believed that by praying to Goddess Katyayani, marriage of unmarried girls is done quickly and worshiping Lord Nagalingam leads to the attainment of children. Not only this but there is a 6 feet tall rock idol of Ganesha here. By the way, you must know that there are four arms in every form of Ganesha, but the idol installed in this temple has only two arms of Ganesha. Apart from this, the main statue is overlaid with gold.
