Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, leaders are continuing to change their parties ahead of next year's assembly elections. In the same vein, Sibgatullah Ansari, the elder brother of gangster and former MLA Mukhtar Ansari, has taken over the reins of the Samajwadi Party (SP). Former Minister Ambika Chaudhary has also returned home.

SP president and former CM Akhilesh Yadav have given Mukhtar Ansari's elder brother Sibakatullah Ansari membership of the party along with his supporters. Sibakatullah Ansari was MLA from the SP in 2007 and the Qaumi Ekta Dal in 2012 from the Mohammadabad Assembly in Ghazipur. He then entered the fray on a BSP ticket in 2017 but suffered a setback. Mukhtar Ansari has been lodged in Banda jail for quite some time. His brother Sibakatullah is responsible for maintaining the status of the Ansari family in eastern UP. It was during the Panchayat elections that the Ansari brothers had devised a strategy to get off the elephant and ride a bicycle.

Former Minister Ambika Chaudhary, who moved from SP to BSP, has once again returned to Akhilesh. Former minister Ambika Chaudhary, who was among the veteran leaders, was inducted into the SP by Akhilesh Yadav. Ambika Chaudhary has been MLA from Fefana assembly seat four times in a row from 1993 to 2012. Ambika Chaudhary was also a cabinet minister in Mulayam Singh Yadav's government from 2003 to 2007. Not only that, but he was also the party's chief whip.
