The recently aired TV serial 'Gantchhora' has once again outshined the daily soap 'Mithai.' 'Gantchhora' has topped the TRP charts for the second time in a row, leaving 'Mithai' in second place. Before being replaced by the freshly aired programme, the Soumitrisha Kundoo-Adrit Roy starrer controlled the TRP charts for a long time. 'Mithai' is in third place this week.
The storey of Gantchhora revolves around protagonist Khori's first days at her sasural, where she is not welcomed warmly. Furthermore, Riddhiman, whom she was forced to marry due to inescapable circumstances, despises her. Khori's ordeal to save her parents' pride appears to have struck a chord with the Bengali audience, as the show is presently ranked number one.
The film 'Mon Phagun,' starring Sean Banerjee and Srijla Guha, has landed in second place on the TRP charts. It did well last week, too, owing to the chemistry between protagonists Rishiraj and Pihu. The Modak family is on a quest in 'Mithai' to bring the protagonist and her 'Uchchebabu' closer no matter what it takes. The show recently broadcast a track focused on Mithai's spoken English class, which had some lighthearted moments.
There are two shows at the 4th spot. 'Alta Phoring' and 'Aaye Tobe Sohochori' tied for first place. 'Aaye Tobe Sohochori' is making its presence known on the TRP charts these days, while protagonist Phoring's struggle existence managed to create a connection with the television audience soon after its introduction. On the other side, 'Dhulokona' is ranked sixth. In its first week, the newly debuted 'Anuraager Chowwa' also did well in terms of TRPs.
