Mumbai: Former South African captain and legendary cricketer Gary Kirsten has now joined a new team. Kirsten, who was the coach of the Indian team, has been able to win the World Cup for India during his tenure. He was also the coach of the Bangalore team in the IPL. Gary Kirsten has been named coach of the Cardiff men's team in the Handiwork League starting next year. With this, the long-standing search for the team has also come to an end.
Last year, Australia's women's team has been named coach of Cardiff's women's team, Matthew Mott, who won the T20 World Cup. Apart from coaching Team India and IPL, Kirsten was also associated with Big Bash team Hobart Hurricanes. On joining his new team, Kirsten said, "Joining the English and Wales Cricket Board for coaching work is something I had never done before.
This is a great opportunity. Kirsten added that this is a form-by-format and I sincerely hope it will be quite famous. Gary Kirsten is counted among India's most successful coaches. The BCCI had said that they could join the team again if they wanted to. The Board is in the process of selecting a new coach for the team these days.
