Today, PM Narendra Modi will launch the Gati Shakti National Master Plan for multi-level connectivity with economic sectors. The project is actually a digital platform connecting 16 ministries including rail and road, which will facilitate the operation of development projects. A senior central government official has said that the scheme aims to promote integrated planning and promote the coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects.
The same 16 Ministries and Departments have put all the projects which are to be completed in GIS mode by 2024-25. The officer said that "Speed power will be a national infrastructure master plan for the country, which will lay the foundation of overall infrastructure. There is no coordination between our modes of transport right now. The Speed Power Project will address all these problems. It will help in developing new possibilities for building economic zones.''
The same platform will help in enhancing the efficiency of industries, encouraging local manufacturers, enhancing the competitiveness of the industry and developing new possibilities for building future economic areas. This will address issues such as the problem of unconnected schemes, lack of standardization, sanction issues and timely construction and optimum utilization of capabilities. The platform has been developed by Bhaskaracharya National Institute of Space Applications and Geoinformatics under the Ministry of Information Technology. Department of Industry and Internal Business Promotion will be the nodal Ministry for monitoring and implementation of all projects.
