The chairman of Adani Group, Gautam Adani, had a meeting with the emerging chess talent, Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa. Sharing snapshots of their meeting, the billionaire expressed his solidarity with the chess champion. Adani conveyed his support on social media, stating, “It's an honor to stand by Praggnanandhaa as he continues to shine in the chess world, bringing pride to India. His achievements inspire numerous young Indians, proving that nothing surpasses the joy of representing our nation on a global stage. Praggnanandhaa epitomizes India's potential. I wish him the very best. Jai Hind.”

In 2023, Praggnanandhaa made history as the youngest chess player globally to reach the World Cup final, following the footsteps of India's Viswanathan Anand. Hailing from Chennai, the unassuming teenager gained prominence in 2022 by defeating Magnus Carlsen several times, drawing attention to India's progress in chess. He also bagged the silver medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023.

Achieving the title of the youngest grandmaster in India at 12 and the second-youngest worldwide, Praggnanadhaa stands as the fifth-youngest individual to become a grandmaster, joining the ranks of Abhimanyu Mishra, Sergey Karjakin, Gukesh D, and Javokhir Sindarov. Interestingly, his older sister, R. Vaishali, is also a grandmaster, marking them as the world's first brother-sister Grandmaster duo.

Adani Group, through its flagship initiative #GarvHai, has supported 28 skilled athletes across various sports like boxing, wrestling, tennis, javelin throw, shooting, running, shot put, brisk walking, and archery.
