Kolkata: The Adani Group, led by noted industrialist Gautam Adani, is showing a lot of interest in West Bengal. The Adani Group is taking interest in everything from port and road infrastructure to ethanol there. Meanwhile, Adani's son Karan Adani met the state CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee. There were talks between the two about possible investments, while after the meeting, CM Banerjee said that Ambani-Adani should also and agriculture should also be needed.

Karan Adani had met Mamata Banerjee at the Bengal Secretariat on Thursday (February 10, 2022). It was informed that the meeting discussed the possible investment in the state. A top official of the state government has informed the media about the visit. The meeting, which took place nearly two months before the Global Trade Summit of the Bengal government, discussed the construction of the proposed deep-sea port at Tajpur. It also discussed the possible investment in the Deucha-Panchami coal mining project. Chief Secretary H K Dwivedi and other senior officials were also present in the meeting.
