PRAYAGRAJ: Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, participated Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj on Tuesday, to offer Ganga Puja and participate in Seva (service). During his visit, Adani also stopped by the ISKCON Temple camp at the Mela.

The Adani Group and ISKCON have partnered to provide free meals to devotees at the Mahakumbh Mela, a service known as "Mahaprasad Seva." This initiative began on January 13 and will continue until February 26.

On January 9, Gautam Adani met Guru Prasad Swami Maharaj, Chairman of ISKCON’s Governing Body Commission, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, to discuss the free food distribution project. Adani shared a picture with Guru Prasad Swami Maharaj on social media, where he wrote: “The Kumbh is a sacred place where everyone instinctively joins in acts of charity. It is my privilege to collaborate with @IskconInc at the Maha Kumbh to provide Mahaprasad Seva, offering free meals to thousands of devotees, with the blessings of Maa Annapurna.”

He further expressed, “Meeting Guru Prasad Swamiji today gave me a profound sense of the dedication to service. In true terms, service is the highest form of patriotism, prayer, and devotion."

Speaking to Guru Prasad Swamiji, Adani reflected on his humble beginnings, saying, "I come from a simple family background, and we’ll continue to rely on your support to serve society. Your organization and its delivery system reach millions, and it’s truly inspiring."

Earlier in the same day, the Adani Group and ISKCON came together to serve food to the devotees attending the Maha Kumbh Mela. The Mahaprasad Seva will run throughout the entire event, ending on February 26.

The Mahakumbh Mela 2025, being held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. This spiritual event takes place every 12 years. Major bathing rituals, known as the Shahi Snan, occurred on January 14 during Makar Sankranti. Additional significant rituals will take place on January 29 for Mauni Amavasya and February 3 for Basant Panchami.
