New Delhi: Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) has won their opening match of IPL 2021 and made a great start to their campaign in this tournament. Australian power-hitter Glenn Maxwell has made significant contributions with his bat in both these matches. RCB bought them for this year's auction by paying a hefty amount of 14.25 crores. 

Now Gautam Gambhir, the former opening batsman of Team India, has also praised Maxwell for his performance in IPL so far this year. Gautam Gambhir said, "It was very important for RCB to run Maxwell. He has played these bets with a lot of confidence and a huge amount of money on him. He had to live up to the expectations of his team. It's a good thing, He has made a great start in the tournament. He has started playing well from his first innings".

At the same time, Gambhir has described Maxwell's innings against Hyderabad as very important. He has said that "Maxwell played a very important inning against Hyderabad. Batting on that wicket was not easy, especially against Rashid Khan. Maxwell planned his innings with a lot of understanding. He did not take any risk against Rashid. And stay till the end".
