NEW DELHI: Ever since the BCCI announced the introduction of the "Impact Player" in this season, the IPL 2023 has attracted widespread attention.

One of the main topics of conversation during the first IPL 2023 game between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings was how the teams would use it and who would be the designated "impact players."

The 'Impact Player' has received praise from experts while clubs in the IPL are still learning how to succeed.
The legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar thinks it would take some time for the teams to master this new regulation.

"You need some time to become familiar with new rules and playing circumstances. All ten teams in the TATA IPL 2023 will share the same circumstance. To succeed, they will need some time "told Star Sports, Gavaskar.

Harbhajan Singh, a former cricketer for India, praised the IPL think group for creating this novel regulation.

"It's a very creative move because you can now swap out a player you feel is ineffective or has fulfilled his function for someone who can have a significant impact given the playing circumstances. Therefore, congratulations to BCCI, it's a great rule, " he said.
