Mumbai: Police have busted a 'gay sex racket' and arrested three persons in Mumbai's Malwani. The accused have been identified as Irfan, Imran and Ahmed. The trio was running the racket using the online app 'Grinder (Grindr).' Many elite people are among those who were included in the client list. According to media reports, police said after nabbing the accused that they were identified as 26-year-old Irfan Furkan Khan, 24-year-old Ahmed Farooq Sheikh and 24-year-old Imran Shafiq Sheikh. Two others are also accused but are still absconding.

All of them are alleged to have contacted gay men through the online app and promised to take money from them and provide them with sex facility. The case came to light when the accused preyed on a 23-year-old accountant of a company. He was asked for a thousand rupees per hour. When everything was settled and the accountant reached the given address, four men expressed their desire to have sex with him, when the youth refused, he was beaten up, his phone, purse snatched and threatened, the victim was taken to his ATM PIN. The accused also made obscene videos of the youth and threatened to put him on the internet. With great difficulty, the young man escaped from the clutches of the men. He pretended that he was going to take the money. But he left and reached home and narrated the whole incident.

The accused fled as soon as they saw the youth along with his family members. However, the family lodged a complaint with the police station and registered a case against the accused. Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Thakur directed an inquiry into the case after a case was registered at Malvani police station. Senior inspectors Shekhar Bhalerao and Hasan Mulani along with their team arrested the trio by Monday morning. "We have registered a case against all the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code," police officials said. The arrested accused were produced before the Borivali Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Monday and remanded in police custody. '
