Today is the birthday of famous Bollywood film singer Geeta Dutt. She was the wife of Bollywood's greatest filmmaker Guru Dutt so far. However, his life was full of tragedy. She was always upset with Guru Dutt's inclination towards Waheeda Rahman.
The same is true of all the big musicians of his time like S.D. His participation with Burman, Hemant Kumar and Op Nayyar is well known. His real popularity was s.d. Achieved by Burman's songs. She came to the notice of the people with her song 'Mera Sundar Sapna Baat Gaya'. But Burman also sang other kinds of songs from him. The ghazal was sung by Geeta Dutt and composed by Shailesh Kumar. The film was Savera (1958) featuring Ashok Kumar and Meena Kumari.
