Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot presented his fourth budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 on Wednesday, with a focus on job creation and healthcare.

Gehlot announced the introduction of the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme while presenting the budget to the Rajasthan Assembly. The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), for which a Rs 800 crore budget has been suggested, will provide 100 days of employment in metropolitan areas starting next year.

Gehlot announced an increase in health coverage from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh per family per year under the state government's ambitious Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme, which was launched last year. He also declared that IPD and OPD services in state-run hospitals will be free of charge. "In the Budget, we have taken care of every segment of society, as we have done in the past." "It is my joy to present the first distinct agriculture budget," says the governor, referring to the state's handling of the crop problem. Gehlot announced a Rs 5,000 crore funding for the CM Krishak Saathi Yojna, up from Rs 2,000 crore in the previous Budget.The Rajasthan Micro Irrigation Mission, which will assist 5 lakh farmers, is recommended for Rs 2,700 crore in the Budget for 2022-23.
