Christian girls get converted in Kerala, George Kurien reveals about 'Love Jihad'

Kochi: National Commission for Minorities Commission George Kurien has sent a letter to the Union Home Ministry stating that Christian girls in Kerala are becoming soft targets for Islamic fundamentalists and are being indulged in terrorist activities by making them victims of love jihad. Kurien has demanded a probe into the matter by the National Security Agency (NIA).

George Kurien wrote a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, claiming that Christian girls are being made victims of love jihad in Kerala and in the last seven years, four thousand Christian girls have fallen prey to love jihad. In a letter to the ministry, Kurien has said that Christian girls are becoming the easiest victims of love jihad in Kerala. In his letter, citing a report prepared by the Kerala Bishop Catholic Conference, he said that from 2005 to 2012, four thousand Christian girls have been implicated in 'Love Jihad'.

Kurian said that they were all implicated in the love trap and forced to convert to Islam. Kurien reported that in most cases the victimized Christian girls were brainwashed. He told the ministry that there is a need to stop this dangerous trend and strict laws need to be enacted to curb conversions being carried out by Islamic fundamentalists.
