Today is the birthday of Gulab Nabi Azad, senior and veteran Congress leader of India, Gulab Nabi Azad was born on March 7, 1949, in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. His father's name was Rahmatullah. Gulab Nabi Azad did his postgraduate studies in zoology from Jammu and Kashmir University. Ghulam Nabi Azad married a famous and distinguished singer of Kashmir, Shamin Dev Azad, in the year 1980. He is survived by his wife and two children. In the same Congress, there are many such loyal leaders who are seen standing together in the time of any problem on the Gandhi-Nehru family. Ghulam Nabi Azad is one of those leaders. Ghulam Nabi Azad is a fiery leader of the Indian National Congress. At times, he has also faced criticism from opposition parties and the public due to his statements. He is a skilled politician. In 1973, Ghulam Nabi Azad entered active politics as a member of the Congress. Between 1973-1975 he was the Block Secretary of the Blessa Congress Committee. It is from here that his political life started to get proper direction. In 1975, Ghulam Nabi Azad became the state president of the Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress and then the Congress president of the city of Doda in 1977. He was soon made the General Secretary of the All India Youth Congress.

In 1982, Ghulam Nabi Azad took over the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Company Affairs as the first Union Deputy Minister and then became the Minister of State shortly thereafter. In 1985, Ghulam Nabi Azad was made Minister of State for Home after winning the Lok Sabha elections again from the Washim constituency. But he was soon handed over to the Ministry of Food and Civil Supplies. Apart from all this, Ghulam Nabi Azad was also the president of the All India Muslim Youth Congress from 1978 to 1981. In 1986, he was also made a member of the Congress Working Committee. Subsequently, in 1987, he became the General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee.
