Till today, all of you have seen a variety of squirrels, but today we are going to show you a squirrel that is called iridescent. Yes, this squirrel is called by many names and is visible in the jungles of South India. It is with many colours that it is called iridescent squirrel. The real name of this squirrel is malabar giant squirrel. It is also known as indian giant squirrel, iridescent squirrel, but its biological name is Ratufa Indica.

We should also tell you that the total length of this squirrel is about three feet from head to tail. In fact, there are many colours on the body. This list includes many colors of black, brown, yellow, blue, red, orange. It is said that it runs from one tree to another with a long jump, and the one who sees it seems to like it. Very often, it is able to jump to a distance of more than 20 feet. However, the squirrel is completely vegetarian and eats fruit, flowers, nuts and bark of trees.

Some of these squirrels are said to eat vegetarianism as well as insects and hummingbird eggs. The squirrel is active in the morning and evening and sleeps during the day. There are four subspecies of Ratufa Indica in India. The list is the first Ratufa Indica, the second Ratufa Indica Centralis, the third Ratufa Indica Delbata and the fourth Ratufa Indica Maxima. These four are found in different parts of India. Their colour and size differ according to their locality.
