Meerut: A 19-year-old girl was raped and killed in a marriage hall by her cousin in Meerut. This has been disclosed to the police by the accused himself. Her cousin Vishal Pilkhuva has been charged with the girl's death. He has been taken into custody by the police. The accused cousin has an unbreakable love for the girl. Perhaps even the girl has no idea what was going on in his mind. During interrogation, the accused admitted to attempting to rape the girl and killing her for refusing. This information was given by SSP Meerut Prabhakar Chaudhary during a media briefing.

The groom's niece was killed at a wedding ceremony held on Monday night at the red carpet pavilion on Garh Road. The victim's family had given a rape report to the police and claimed that she had been murdered. One policeman Ravi Balyan was also taken into custody on the spot and beaten to death as an accused. The police also questioned the guards and the arbour operators. The girl's cousin Vishal was taken into custody late on Tuesday night. According to police, the accused Vishal told them that around 9.30 pm he took the girl to a room in the arbour and tried to rape her. Vishal strangled the girl to death when she protested. He left the pavilion after the accident and returned two hours later.

Constable Ravi Balyan was also seen at the spot. On interrogation, policeman Ravi claimed that he was drunk, danced and then returned to his room to sleep. He is not aware of what happened after that. The girl was raped and attempted murder in the same room where Ravi was sleeping. Ravi slept constantly and the girl pleaded for mercy. The girl's family has also accused the arbour operator of being involved in the incident. Police are still interrogating the arbour operator and the officer.

During interrogation, the accused admitted to sealing the body in the bathroom after the murder. The family members launched a search for the girl and the accused went in search of them. The girl's brother and the accused were heard when the whereabouts of the girl was not confirmed. Authorities are trying to find out what happened on the phone call of murder suspect Vishal. Police arrested the accused Vishal and took him to the pavilion to recreate the crime scene. A forensic team has also been sent to the spot for investigation. The accused Vishal has been kept in judicial custody for 14 days and investigation is on.
