Melbourne: Glenn Maxwell has described Australia as a strong contender for the October-November T20 World Cup. Maxwell says the Australian team is very good for the World Cup. Maxwell also said that the recent defeat on the Australian team will not matter. Mentions that Glenn Maxwell has returned to the squad for the T20 World Cup. On this Maxwell said, 'I think it's great. I think we'll be in a better position when the team comes together. We're all set for it.'

It may be recalled that nearly eight months have passed since Steve Smith, David Warner and Pat Cummins played for Australia, while Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Ken Richardson have also not played for the team for six months. But all six players are part of the Australian squad for the T20 World Cup. Maxwell said, 'You look at our line-up, there are a lot of match-winners in this team and they can snatch the match from the opposition when they have a day. Any day any of our players can win us matches and whenever that happens it will be difficult for anyone to stop us.'

Tell you that there are seven experienced players in the Australian team and if the team has to move forward in the tournament, these players will have to play an important role. Maxwell said, ''The most important thing to win this year's T20 World Cup will be, to start fast. The team will have to get off to a good start at the start of the tournament and some batsmen will have to be in better form. The bowlers have to take early wickets and that will be the key to victory for us in the tournament."
