New Delhi: India's economy has been the world's fastest-growing for the past two years, and it is believed that it will remain at the top in 2024 as well. Meanwhile, China's economy is facing a slowdown compared to India. This year, India's quarterly growth rate is expected to be 4-5% higher than China's. The government newspaper of China, Global Times, has expressed concern over the comparison of the Indian and Chinese economies. The Chinese Communist Party's official newspaper, Global Times, argues that any comparison between the economies of India and China is fundamentally flawed.

The Chinese newspaper states that the comparison between the Chinese and Indian economies has become an attractive topic due to the impact of American pressure. The report mentions, "Such comparisons may be enticing, but the developmental phases of both countries are different. Comparing the economies of both countries reveals a lack of understanding among people about both economies." Global Times refers to an article in an Indian newspaper, saying that while the majority of the article is about India's economic prospects, the headline directly compares China and India. In fact, the Indian newspaper had titled its article, 'India is Developing, China is Slowing Down.' Global Times writes, "The article in the Indian newspaper shows a self-satisfaction with India's economic achievements and an intention to defame China's economic growth."

Praise for India's Economic Growth
However, Global Times acknowledges the rapid growth in the Indian economy in its article. The newspaper states, "It cannot be denied that India's economic growth has been impressive this year, especially when there is a global economic downturn. Official figures reveal that India's GDP grew by a significant 7.6% in the July-September quarter, surpassing all estimates. The Reserve Bank of India had also estimated a growth of 6.5%."

'Those Who Intentionally Lower China...'
The Chinese newspaper further writes in its report that those who intentionally use India to belittle China will be disappointed because there is no direct competition between China and India in the so-called ring of rivalry. If they believe it is a competition in the ring, they should first consider evaluating the weight of both players. Global Times concludes its article by stating that there may be things in India's developmental process that China can learn from.
