Bengaluru:  Former and The 23rd Karnataka  Chief minister and now BJP president B S Yeddyurappa has given the official consent to state party leaders to bring in rebel MLAs from the ruling Congress and JD(S)  coalition into the BJP’s crease.

Yeddyurappa was addressing his party’s state functionaries meet in Bengaluru on Friday. He claimed that a number of such rebel leaders of the two parties were all set to join the BJP. He called upon BJP workers to “personally” go to the houses of “those who are unhappy with the coallition” and talk them for joining the BJP party fold.

Calling the JD(S)-Congress coalition “unholy” coalition, he also took a jibe at the state government’s upcoming budget presentation on July 5, terming it as a "minority budget".

He stated the BJP will take the “next step” after the budget will present. He urged his party functionaries to work hard to ensure that the BJP wins at least 25 of the 28 parliamentary seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

“I appeal to leaders to work towards strengthening the party by bringing in honest and capable people without thinking that new inductees would affect their own chances," Yeddyurappa stated as quoted by NDTV.

Yeddyurappa pointed to that the BJP was confident of forming the government before the five-year term of the H D Kumaraswamy government gets ended. He also said the BJP was ready to “welcome” all those rebel leaders who “care about Karnataka and the nation’s development”, The Times of India quoted him as saying.
