Panaji: Fed up with his wife's illness and poverty, a 46-year-old man buried his helpless wife alive. Now the police have arrested the accused. At the same time investigation of the case is going on. It is being told that Tukaram Shetgaonkar, a resident of Maramvada, buried his wife Tanvi alive at the canal construction site of the Tilari Irrigation Project.

However, this matter came to light when the employees working on the canal at 10 am on Thursday were equalizing the soil dug with the help of JCB. On this, the Bicholim police say that as soon as these people started work, Shetgaonkar came there and he expressed his objection and tried to stop the workers from working there. But the workers did not listen and kept working. During this time, the JCB dug the soil and the laborers saw the body of a woman under it. After this, Shetgaonkar standing there, seeing this, escaped from there.

After receiving information about this, the police took the body in its possession and sent it to Goa Medical College for postmortem. After this, on the basis of doubt, Shetgaonkar was called to the police station and questioned. During this, he admitted that it was the body of his 44-year-old wife Tanvi. He told the police that his wife was in bed for a long time, troubled by poverty and despair, he buried her alive on Wednesday night.
