Panaji: Potholes on the roads due to heavy rains in Goa continue to be a subject for political criticism as well as social media memes. In fact, potholes have been seen here since the monsoon. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant last Saturday urged PWD officials to ensure that not a single pothole is visible on the state roads till November 1.

Apart from him, former Deputy Prime Minister Sudin Dhavalikar said, "I stimulate the Chief Minister to fix all rural, major districts, districts, internal roads, state National Highways, if he repairs all roads, we will also support him.'' In fact, he has summoned this challenge when CM Sawant, at a function organized by PWD, assured the officials of the department that "potholes on all roads in the state should be repaired by November 1.'' On the other hand, former Goa Aam Aadmi Party General Secretary former journalist Pradeep Padgaonkar uploaded a video on social media.

In it, he said, 'Namaskar friends, if you have any work with me from November 1, you should come home to meet me. From 1st November, I will not be seen on the streets.' Let me tell you that in the last few weeks, photos of common citizens digging cement pits to repair roads in their respective areas have also been going viral on social media. However, amidst all this, Goa PWD Minister Deepak Pouskar has condemned efforts to defame the government by using the condition of roads as a ploy. He also accused critics of the government of increasing potholes to exaggerate the condition of roads.
