Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today paid tributes to former State Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on his death anniversary. Former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar passed away on March 17 in the year 2019. In fact, he was suffering from pancreatic cancer. Now Chief Minister Pramod Sawant paid homage at the Parrikar Memorial at Miramar Beach nearby this morning. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has also tweeted giving a tribute and salutation to chief minister Manohar Parikaar.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told reporters, "My government is pursuing parrikar's policies and principles which worked for the betterment of the deprived sections. He was accompanied by Manohar Parrikar's eldest son Utpal Parrikar."

Besides Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, BJP's Goa unit president Rajesh Sadananda Sheth and other party leaders also paid homage to former chief minister Parrikar at the party office in Panaji. Late Manohar Parrikar had been the Chief Minister of Goa. At the same time, he has also been the defense minister of India. In addition, he was also a Rajya Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh. He is the first person to become the chief minister of a state in India.
