Panaji: Senior Goa Congress leader and former CM Luisinho Falerio (Luizinho Faleiro) is likely to hold on to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) today. Falerio is considered close to former Congress president Rahul Gandhi. It is being predicted that Luzinho may join the TMC during a press conference. The biggest face of the Congress in Goa, Falerio, is currently the current MLA from the party's stronghold Navelim constituency. He has been representing Navelim for many years.

Sources said Louisiana is likely to announce his resignation from the Congress today due to differences with the party leadership. Sources have also reported that TMC is in touch with Louisiana. They have also been given an offer. In fact, TMC is preparing to step into Goa. The party's national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee had also publicly announced it in Mamata Banerjee's campaign in Bhabanipur on Sunday.

A team of TMC MPs Derek O'Brien and Prasoon Banerjee recently visited Goa ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Members of Prashant Kishore's IPAC are also camping in Goa to work on the ground to identify the party in the BJP-ruled state. On Sunday, Falario said, 'I have been thinking for the past few days and have finally come to a decision.' However, he did not reveal anything about his decision.
