Panaji: Political stir has increased in the states regarding the assembly elections, meanwhile Utpal, son of former Union Minister Manohar Parrikar, has not yet received a ticket from the Bharatiya Janata Party, but he has started campaigning in Goa. He earlier campaigned door-to-door in Panjim, the constituency of Manohar Parrikar, from where he is demanding a ticket. This seat is in a lot of discussions.

Meanwhile, BJP's Goa in-charge Devendra Fadnavis has said that only because someone is Manohar Parrikar's son or son of a leader cannot be considered eligible for a BJP ticket. Utpal was seen going door to door in Panjim on Saturday urging the public to vote for him. Utpal has also sharply criticised Fadnavis' remarks.

He said, 'The kind of politics that is happening in Goa, I cannot tolerate it. This is not acceptable to me. Utpal said in an interview that is Fadnavis saying that the only able to win is the criterion? Character doesn't matter? And you are going to give the ticket to a person who has a criminal history and we have to sit quietly at home?" He insisted that he would not sit silent if BJP gives a party ticket to sitting MLA Atanasio Monserrate for Panaji constituency Meanwhile, Singer and Social Activist Hema Sardesai said that "I have received an offer to contest elections from TMC as an independent candidate and other parties are ready to support. But if Utpal is contesting the election then there is no need for me to contest." No. He is the face that Panjim needs."
