Govt to provide Rs 5,000 help to workers who lose jobs in corona

The Goa Cabinet on Wednesday allowed a plan to provide one-time financial assistance of Rs 5,000 to workers from unorganized areas who have lost their resources due to the corona epidemic. Talking to reporters after the cabinet meeting, CM Pramod Sawant said that the scheme will cover 25,000 to 30,000 people whose resources have been affected by the epidemic. He said, after filling a simple form, they will be given one-time financial assistance of Rs.5,000.

He said the scheme will include auto-rickshaw drivers, taxi operators, contract employees registered in all panchayats, and employees listed under traditional businesses of the State Social Welfare Department. According to media reports, how many migrant workers returned to their homes in the corona crisis, how many died on the way. On this, the Central Government has earlier said that we do not have the data on the number of workers who died. But then later figures were presented in Parliament, according to which more than one crore migrant laborers returned to their homes due to lockdown, and a total of 97 workers died by September 9.

The pace of deadly corona infection in the same country is now slowing down. 39,796 new corona cases have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours. On the other hand, 723 infected people died. With the advent of 9,336 new corona cases in Maharashtra, the number of people infected with corona infection in the state has increased to 60,98,177 so far. 123 persons have died due to infection. A total of 1,23,030 people have lost their lives so far due to the epidemic in the state.
