Chennai: Airline company GoAir fired one of its employees for making lewd comments on Goddess Sita. GoAir employee Ashif Khan made obscene remarks on social media site Twitter regarding Sita Mata, following which Boycott GoAir (#boycottGoair) was trending on Twitter.
For this, many Twitter users tagged GoAir and demanded action against Ashif Khan. Tagging Goair, Sonam Mahajan had asked, 'Is Ashif Khan your employee, as he wrote in his bio on Twitter. If he is your employee and you did not remove him then it will mean that you are promoting hatred towards Hinduism. ' Along with this, others demanded strong action from GoAir against the employee. People said that if GoAir did not remove the employee, they would not travel further into GoAir.
After this GoAir informed Ashif's removal. Sharing the information on Twitter, the company wrote, 'Go Air has a zero-tolerance policy and all GoAir employees are required to follow the rules, rules and policy of appointment in the company, including the behavior of social media. The personal views of an individual or employee are not related to the company. The contract of Trainee First Officer Ashif Khan is being terminated with immediate effect.
Soon after my tweet, Asif Khan deactivated his profile but I am glad, GoAir didn’t let him get away.
