Kanpur: On Saturday (November 13), the Goddess Annapurna's 'Shobha Yatra' procession, which is on its journey to Varanasi, arrived in Kanpur. On October 15, the Goddess's idol arrived from Canada, and on November 15, it would be erected at Varanasi's Kashi Vishwanath Temple. On November 15, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will undertake the 'Pran pratishtha' of Maa Annapurna's idol in Kashi.

On November 11, after a religious ceremony in which mantras were chanted, representatives from the Uttar Pradesh government received the stone statue from the Archaeological Survey of India. The idol measures 17 centimetres in height, 9 centimetres in width, and 4 centimetres in thickness.

Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took office in 2014, 42 unique heritage objects have been returned to the country, according to Union Minister G Kishan Reddy. Only 13 rare statues and paintings may be imported to India between 1976 and 2013.

At this time, 157 sculptures and paintings have been discovered in other countries. Several countries are in discussions to bring them back to India. It is being attempted to bring idols from Singapore, Australia, Switzerland, and Belgium to the event. Efforts are also being made to bring back roughly 100 idols from America.
