On the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX), the futures price of gold of 24-carat purity rose by Rs 16 to Rs 50,552 per 10 grams in the morning, while the futures price of silver rose by Rs 85 to Rs 54,492 per kg. Earlier, trading in gold had openly started at Rs 50,598, while silver began trading at Rs 54,610 per kg. But after this, due to the decrease in demand, the prices of both metals soon came down further. Gold is currently trading 0.03 per cent higher than its previous close price.
