Lockdown has been going on in India since last one month. The same, now on the auspicious occasion like Akshaya Tritiya, for the first time customers are shopping for gold online. Customers will take virtual delivery of gold. After the lockdown opens, they will be given physical delivery of gold. With the price of branded gold being close to Rs 50,000 (tax) per 10 grams, digital purchases of gold on Akshaya Tritiya are expected to increase by five percent over normal days. Generally, on the Akshaya Tritiya, there is an increase of 20-25 percent in the sale of gold, but an increase of five percent through online medium is also considered encouraging. Lockdown is going on these days to avoid coronavirus infection. Due to this, jewelry shops are closed. Akshaya Tritiya is on Sunday.

Regarding this matter, the jewelry sellers said that they are sending a message to their knowledgeable customers for auspicious shopping through WhatsApp. Vimal Goyal, the wholesaler of Delhi Bullion Market, told that on WhatsApp they are giving detailed information of their bank account to their customers. Interested buyers can confirm their purchase by transferring money online to their account. Once the lockdown opens, the customer will receive the delivery. Branded sellers are taking online bookings on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. Kundan Group Director Vidit Garg said that customers who book gold online for Akshaya Tritiya will be given virtual delivery on Sunday. As soon as the lockdown opens, delivery work will begin through their courier. Gold Honorship Certificate is being given to those shopping online from Kalyan Jewelers. After the lockdown opens, the customer can get jewelery or coins from Kalyan Jewelers' store.

For your information, let us tell you that on the Akshaya Tritiya, the price of gold has gone beyond Rs 50,000 per 10 gram at the big jewelery retailers, while the price of gold at small retailers has been told at Rs 47,500 per 10 gram (24 carat). On the site of PC Jewelers, the price of one gram of gold coin is being told as Rs 5077. Kundan Jewelers is selling 10 grams of gold bars for Rs 52,132. The price of a 2-gram gold bar is Rs 10,768. However, Kalyan Jewelers is telling the price of gold to customers in Delhi at Rs 47019 per 10 grams. Whether tax is included in this price or not is not clear.
