New Delhi: The market is open, but demand is sluggish due to Coronavirus. Therefore, gold prices have declined for the fifth consecutive trading day. On Monday, the price of 10 grams of 24 carat gold is Rs 46400 and the price of 22 carat gold is Rs 42500. The price of silver is Rs 47570 per kg. On Friday i.e. on 5 June, 10 grams of 24 carat gold was priced at Rs 46700 and 22 carat gold was priced at Rs 42770 and silver was sold at Rs 47800 per kg.
This gold price is taken from the India Bullion and Jewelers Association website (ibjarates.com). On Thursday, the price of gold fell by Rs 274 to Rs 47185 per 10 grams in Delhi's spot bullion market. On Wednesday, gold had closed at Rs 47,459 per 10 grams. Silver also declined by Rs 542 per kg and silver closed at Rs 49,558 per kg. Silver was Rs 50,100 per kg on Wednesday.
On Monday, gold prices rose by Rs 350 to Rs 46,048 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators capped demand strongly. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for August traded up to 13,586 lots, an increase of 350 rupees or 0.77%. Gold for October delivery traded at 5,446 lots, up Rs 357, or 0.78 per cent, to Rs 46,220 per 10 grams. Globally, gold rose 1.03 percent to $ 1,700.40 an ounce in New York.
