Tiruchi: A person arrested for allegedly smuggling thin gold foils valued at Rs 25 lakh, from Dubai, have been seized at the airport here and one person detained in this link, officials said.

Customs superintendent Pannerselvam said, Abdul Sakoor (37) of Kasargod in Kerala had come yesterday to collect his baggage. after his baggage was scanned, customs officials found thin gold foils weighing 820 grams concealed inside a parcel.

Officials added, the parcel was seized and he was arrested. Abdul Sakoor had arrived here from Dubai on 2 May but his baggage came later.
