The 82nd Golden Globes award night commenced on Sunday. The honors were fairly well distributed. Here is an insight to the big winners of the night. In case you missed it, we have it ready for you with the major winners inside. Come, check the list of big wins featuring, who won what-

The Brutalist (Best picture- Drama)

Award for the best picture- Drama was bagged by The Brutalist, directed by Brady Corbet. It is based on an Architect’s post war journey to America. The Brutalist also received critical acclaim worldwide, making it to the list of Top 10 movies of 2024. Notably, the film has a runtime of 3 hours and 35 minutes having an intermission in between. The interval separates the movie in two- “Part 1: Enigma of Arrival” and “Part 2: The Hardcore of Beauty”.

With the break, the movie has brought the culture of Intermission in Hollywood back again. The Brutalist is scheduled to be released in India this February.

Adrien Brody (Best Actor- Drama)

Adrien Brody who plays the role of an architect in the epic drama, The Brutalist took the award for the best actor in the category of Drama. The Brutalist dominated this year’s Golden Globes with winning for the best picture Drama and The Best director too. This is Brody’s First Golden Globes award, he missed out on ‘The Pianist’ in 2002. Life came to a full circle for the actor after a wait of 12 long years.

Emilia Perez (In the category of Best Non- English language films and Best film- Musical or comedy)

Emilia Perez, directed by Jacques Audiard has won big with the Best Non- English language film and best film in the genre of Musical or Comedy. The movie has 10 nominations, most for any in the categories of acting, writing, directing and music. Along with this award, it won for the best original song too. Zoe Saldana who featured in the movie along with Selena Gomez, took the award for best actress in a musical or comedy.

Fernanda Torres (Best Actress- Drama)

Fernanda Torres was awarded Best Actress- Drama for her role in I’m still here. The nominations included the likes of actresses Angelina Jolie and Kate Winslet, in which the winner emerged to be Fernanda Torres. It was in 1999, Torres’s mother Fernanda Montenegro was the first Brazilian actress to be nominated at the Golden Globes. 25 years later, Fernanda Torres scripts history as she becomes the first Brazilian actress to bag the Golden Globes award.

Demi Moore (best Actress- Musical or Comedy)

The actress won it for her movie, The Substance which is a body horror satire. It is directed by Corali Fergeat. Who better for the role than Demi Moore, let’s call it a big comeback in the recent times. She played the character of a faded star with peak vulnerability that just won her for the masterstroke.

Peter Straughan (Best screenplay- Motion Picture Award)

The best screenplay in a motion picture was awarded to Peter Straughan for the movie ‘Conclave’. The movie is about a fictional election conducted to elect the new Pope. There were six nominations for the thriller, it managed to win the Best Screenplay Award.

Tadanobu Asano (Best Actor in a supporting role on television- Male)

Actor Tadanobu Asano was conferred the award for Best Male Actor in a Supporting role on television, for the show Shogun. The actor is finally receiving accolades, not only this he could win also for the role.

Jessica Gunning (Best supporting Actress- TV)

In the TV Category, Jessica Gunning won the award for the best supporting actress for her role in the Netflix show, Baby Reindeer. It was her standout portrayal throughout that led Jessica win for the role of an obsessed stalker in the show. It is even referred as a breakout role in her career. The role made the story twisted and engaging at the same time.

Anna Sawai (Best TV Actress- Drama)

Again, Shogun. Anna Sawai won the award for best TV Actress in the Drama category. This is the maiden Golden Globe title for the actress. She portrayed the character of Toda Mariko that showed her vulnerability as an actor.

Sebastian Stan (Best Actor- Musical or Comedy)

Sebastian Stan was nominated for the Best Actor in the category of Musical or Comedy for A Different Man as well as Best Actor- Drama for The Apprentice. Stan lost to Adrien Brody in the latter category, but he could register a win for A Different Man. Stan’s role as the character was simply everything that landed him the award. 

Colin Farell (Best performance by a male actor in a limited series)

For his turn in The Penguin, Colin Farell won for the Best performance by a male Actor in a limited series, anthology series or a motion picture made for television. He could completely transform himself for the role. Previously the actor had won for films In Bruges and The Banshees of Inisherin.

Kieran Culkin (Best performance by an actor in a Supporting role in a motion picture)

For the movie, A Real Pain, Kieran Culkin won the best performance by an actor in a Supporting role in a motion picture. It is directed by Jesse Eisenberg.
