Amritsar: The Golden Temple in Amritsar, one of the holiest Sikh sites, is in the midst of a tussle over Saturday's case. Punjab Home Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has expressed concern over the sacrilege case. He said that the matter is being taken very seriously. Randhawa said that the culprit has not been identified yet. He didn't have an identity card. Investigation revealed that the person had come to Darbar Sahib alone. Security has been tightened in and around the Golden Temple complex. Also, the footage of CCTV cameras installed in other gurdwaras is also being scrutinized.

The same Punjab Assembly had passed a bill to prevent such incidents. However, he is yet to get permission. We have demanded a minimum punishment of 10 years for those found guilty of cruelty. He said the case will be investigated.

On Saturday, a man forcibly reached the main place of worship due to Rehras sahib recitation at Darbar Sahib. According to the report, the man broke the railing and went inside, and allegedly tried to catch the sword placed before Guru Granth Sahib Ji. In the blink of an eye, he was caught by the people of the company present there. Thereafter, he was handed over to the Task Force of The SGPC. But the mob could lynch and the man died. Punjab Police has registered a case in the incident.
